NOTICE is hereby given that the City Council will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Thursday September 3, 2020, at 6:30p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 113 West Jefferson, Palmer, Texas.


The purpose of the Public Hearing is to hear citizen’s comments in favor of or in opposition to the City of Palmer’s proposed 2020/2021 Fiscal Year Budget.


Any citizen wishing to provide his/her comments in favor of or in opposition to the City’s proposed 2020/2021 Fiscal Year Budget is invited to be present and will be heard. Written comments will be accepted and considered on or before the date of the Public Hearing.


This budget will raise more total property taxes than last year’s budget by 27,732.84, and of that amount $4,918.33 is tax revenue to be raised from new property added to the tax roll this year.


Disaster Declaration In Response to COVID-19

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – March 17, 2020 (Palmer, Texas) The City of Palmer has issued a Disaster Declaration Order in response to the COVID-19 outbreak. This declaration is effective immediately and will be in effect for the next 30 days.


Tax Rate

The City Council will consider an ordinance adopting the tax rate for FY 2019-2020 at a special called meeting to be held on September 24th,2019 at 6:30 PM at the City of Palmer City Hall located at 113 W Jefferson St, Palmer, Texas

Spraying for mosquitoes

Beginning this week, the City of Palmer will be spraying for mosquitoes every Tuesday night, and Thursdays as well if deemed necessary.  The spraying schedule will begin on Tuesday, June 3.  Spraying will begin at 9:00 P.M.

The City of Palmer will be using a general use pesticide which contains 30% Permethrin and 30% Piperonyl Butoxide to spray for mosquitoes.  As with most pesticides, this product is harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin.  Contact with skin, eyes or clothing should be avoided.  If contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.  Repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions.  Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.  Contact with pets should also be avoided.
