Spraying for mosquitoes

  • June 2, 2014

Beginning this week, the City of Palmer will be spraying for mosquitoes every Tuesday night, and Thursdays as well if deemed necessary.  The spraying schedule will begin on Tuesday, June 3.  Spraying will begin at 9:00 P.M.

The City of Palmer will be using a general use pesticide which contains 30% Permethrin and 30% Piperonyl Butoxide to spray for mosquitoes.  As with most pesticides, this product is harmful if swallowed or absorbed through the skin.  Contact with skin, eyes or clothing should be avoided.  If contact occurs, wash thoroughly with soap and water before eating, drinking, chewing gum, using tobacco or using the toilet.  Repeated skin contact may cause allergic reactions.  Remove contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.  Contact with pets should also be avoided.

Please call city hall at 972 449-3160 with any questions or concerns.
