Mr. Young,

I was wondering if you have had any business prospects come by City Hall as of late? It seems Mr. Dauben says on his posts that he is giving tours left and right. Are these the groceries stores he told everyone would come because of beer and wine, but would not say any names? It would be great to have some new businesses if you could please let us know.

Answer:

From time to time infrequently I have been contacted by businesses asking questions about locating in Palmer.  In the past year, I am not aware of any contacts made to City Hall.  I would welcome the opportunity to advertise Palmer.  Property tax incentives are available if the city council approves.

It is my opinion that the incentive should be matched to the business.  A business that is going to hire a large workforce would provide other than a property tax economic benefit to the city and that would offset any property tax abatement.
